Ajay Nishank and Satirtha Patnaik emerged champions in the men`s doubles category of the PDTA Odisha Open Tennis Tournament, which concluded at Puri Club in Puri today. In the all-Bhubaneswar final, Nishank and Patnaik faced stiff fight in the opening set before defeating coach-disciple pair of Santosh Mallik and Adwithya Patnaik in straight sets.
Bhubaneswar players made a clean sweep of all the three titles with V Raman and Saswat Jena in 40-plus veterans doubles category and B N Mohanty and S S Rath in 50-plus veterans` doubles event emerging champions. Puri Collector Aravind Agarwal and SP Anup Kumar Sahoo handed over the trophies in the presence of host Puri District Tennis Association secretary Aryakanta Patnaik, tournament director Bibhu Tripathy and tournament referee Prabin Kumar Nayak.

Men`s doubles (Final): Ajay Nishrank-Satirtha Patnaik bt Adwithya Patnaik-Santosh Mallik 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.
40+ Veteran doubles: Semifinals: Amarnath Guru-Damodar Pradhani bt J N Patnaik-Bandhu Mohanty 6-2, V Raman-Saswat Jena bt S S Rath-G R Das 6-3. Final: V Raman-S Jena bt A GuruD Pradhani 8-6.
50+ Veteran doubles: Semifinals: Ajay Mahapatra-J Ganta bt Aryakanta Patnaik-Tarini Patra 6-5 (7-4), B N Mohanty-S S Rath bt G R Das-V Raman 6-4. Final: B N Mohanty-S S Rath bt A Mahapatra-J Ganta 7-3.
